FAQs for potential coaching clients
-
A health coach acts as a supportive partner and guide, focusing on what truly matters to you.
Coaching helps you clarify your goals, break them into manageable steps, and navigate the challenges that come up along the way.
Through listening, thoughtful questions, encouragement, and accountability, a health coach makes change feel doable, flexible, and realistic.
By offering practical support and a whole-person, nonclinical approach, coaches help turn guidance into everyday actions.
-
Health coaching focuses on the process of change, not just the goal.
In coaching, we take time to explore what’s getting in the way, identify patterns in daily life, and build realistic action steps that fit your energy, priorities, and current circumstances.
Coaching provides structure, reflection, and accountability over time — which many people find helps them follow through more consistently, adjust when things don’t go as planned, and build habits that feel sustainable rather than forced.
-
Health coaching often explores daily routines —like nutrition, physical activity, stress, sleep, and self-care.
You choose your priorities, and we work together.
-
Sessions are warm, collaborative conversations focused on you—your habits, your stressors, your energy, and what you want to feel more of in your life.
Together, we explore what’s working, what isn’t, and what small, doable steps will move you forward.
Think of it as guided clarity + practical support, with clear structure.
-
You do.
Coaching is client-led, which means you choose what feels most important to focus on at any given time. I provide structure and support, but I don’t set the agenda or tell you what to work on.My role is to create space for reflection, help you clarify goals, and support you in identifying action steps and accountability — always at a pace that works for you.

You’re not alone — and this is exactly where coaching shines.
Many people already know what they want to do, but struggle with follow-through once life gets busy or complicated. Health coaching isn’t about more information or being told what you should do. It’s about having steady support, accountability, and space to work through what actually gets in the way.
Together, we look at patterns, priorities, and daily routines, and create realistic action steps you want to commit to. Coaching provides structure and accountability — not pressure — so intentions turn into action and change can actually stick over time.
-
No shame here—ever.
Coaching is a space for curiosity, not perfection. Hello Healthjoy provides health coaching only—not medical care.
This means I do not diagnose, treat, or manage medical conditions. Instead, I help you build healthier habits, reduce stress, increase energy, and create sustainable routines that support your overall wellbeing. -
Food and exercise are often part of the conversation, but not in a one-size-fits-all way.
I don’t prescribe diets or exercise plans, and when specialized nutrition or medical care is needed, I encourage working with the appropriate licensed provider. Coaching can then support you in following through on the approach you’ve chosen.
-
Yes.
Health coaching follows an evidence-based process focused on behavior change, self-exploration, goal setting, and accountability. When information or resources are shared, they’re drawn from nationally recognized, evidence-based guidelines and standards. The emphasis is not on trends or quick fixes, but on building habits and routines that support long-term wellbeing.
-
If you’d like, yes.
I’m happy to collaborate as part of your support team while staying fully within the scope of health coaching.I don’t replace medical or mental health providers, and I don’t coordinate or manage clinical care. Instead, coaching can support you by helping you think through recommendations, stay organized, and follow through on the changes you want to make in your daily life.
If you’re working with a doctor, therapist, or other provider, coaching can be a place to prepare for appointments, reflect on what you’ve been advised, and create realistic plans that fit your life. If you ever need clinical support beyond coaching, I’ll encourage you to work with the appropriate provider.

Some clients are able to use FSA or HSA funds for health coaching.
Eligibility depends on your individual plan and typically requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from a licensed healthcare provider, along with approval from your plan administrator.
